PSYCHIATRIST

Chris Aiken, MD

Chris Aiken founded Psych Partners to bring quality care to places in need. He has practiced in North Carolina since 2000, and was inspired to enter this work by the experience of close friends and family with mood disorders.

His research in mood disorders has helped identify new approaches to diagnosis, treatment, and side effect management. He writes regularly on natural approaches to mental health.

Dr. Aiken serves as editor-in-chief of the Carlat Psychiatry Report, one of few psychiatric journals that operates free of industry funding. He teaches at Wake Forest and New York University Schools of Medicine and has written two psychiatric textbooks and two self-help books, including The Depression and Bipolar Workbook (PESI).

He directly supervises the NPs and PAs at Psych Partners through weekly education and consultation meetings.
